Back to school in August

My oldest son starts school every year in February and we take a 1 month break in July. We start school again August 1 and continue until the holidays. Our evaluation is due in February so it must be done in January. My other son will be joining us in August & it will be a bit of a challenge since he has a speech delay. I will be sharing photos of projects, lesson plans & so much more. I've been preparing for August! Bought more supplies, another bookcase, printing out stuff for my youngest, moving everything around for a new set up & so on. Sometimes I wonder how I even found time to sleep or eat!

Happy Homeschooling!

  1. That's a cool idea!! I have been thinking of that work 4 weeks take one week off thing and go right through the summer. But now I don't know what I want to do. My main goal is to make learning so natural that it just blends in with every day living. But how can doing math worksheets be natural? Then again we like to do brain teasers and word search puzzles.

You posted a comment on my blog and I approved it, but it is no where to be found. You mentioned on there something about math sheets (I think it was you anyways lol) and your kids get tired of them.

Well a book that I read suggests a couple things. You know those circle sticker things you can get that most people use for tag sales? Well you can take a worksheet, put an answer on each sticker (make sure it's not in order of the worksheet) and then they have to figure out the answer, grab the right sticker, and then put it on the worksheet where he/she would normally write it out.

    Worth a shot right? lol.

now I'll feel really stupid if it wasn't you who mentioned it lol!
